The University of Louisiana at Lafayette was founded in 1900 and offers over 120 areas of study and specialization. This includes a well-established online training platform through which students can take various courses in different majors, as well as opt for online degrees in select disciplines. Additionally, the University of Louisiana also offers hybrid learning courses which can be handled both online as well as on campus to suit the defined study plans of students. The university also has a dedicated Research Park which includes laboratories & facilities for a wide range of research projects, acting as an incubator for new technologies and ventures in both industry and academia.
The Petroleum Engineering program at the University of Louisiana currently boasts a hard-to-beat placement rate of 100 percent for its graduates. This is great considering the number of students graduated in the last academic year (see more data below). Additionally, its local chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers has been ranked first in the world and North America for the last five years, indicating the quality of the engineers produced by this program.
The department has a number of well-established research and teaching laboratories which are used to advance the practical and hands-on knowledge of its engineering students. The degrees offered include a Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering. There is also the Masters of Science in Engineering and Doctorate in Systems Engineering, and students have the opportunity to specialize in Petroleum Engineering for both.
Additionally, these programs also enable students to obtain their Wild Well Control and Helicopter Underwater Egress Training certifications which would normally have to be earned separately. Finally, the department offers a number of continuing education programs that allow current engineers to improve their skills and learn about new techniques in the industry.
