The department has a number of well-established research and teaching laboratories which are used to advance the practical and hands-on knowledge of its engineering students. The degrees offered include a Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering. There is also the Masters of Science in Engineering and Doctorate in Systems Engineering, and students have the opportunity to specialize in Petroleum Engineering for both.
Additionally, these programs also enable students to obtain their Wild Well Control and Helicopter Underwater Egress Training certifications which would normally have to be earned separately. Finally, the department offers a number of continuing education programs that allow current engineers to improve their skills and learn about new techniques in the industry.

Estimated Tuition Costs and Living Expenses
This chart shows a large bump in tuition fees from 2014 to 2015 – hopefully costs won’t continue to rise at that rate. However, it remains affordable compared to rival schools and the jump was largely offset by a drop in off campus room and board.

|- Room and Board||$8,362||$8,594||$8,566||$8,952||$9,998|
