Founded in 1890, the University of Oklahoma is a vast coed public research institution located in the suburbs of Norman, OK. It currently offers 170 majors and its programs in engineering, business, and pre-health rank amongst the highest both state-wide and nationwide.

Any undergraduate regardless of major can apply at the Center for research opportunities.

The university ranks 111th in the 2017 edition fo Best Colleges in National Universities. It has the distinction of ranking Number 1 in the enrollment of National Merit Scholars amongst public universities. OU has also generated 29 Rhodes Scholars, the highest number for a public educational institution in the US.

Mewbourne or MPGE, as the department is called, offers the full spectrum of Petroleum Engineering degress — Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral. In addition, students can enroll to combined Bachelors/Masters of Science degrees or Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering with an MBA.
